Virtual Discussion: A Conversation on Trump’s Washington

    • June 11, 2020

On June 11, 2020, the Aspen Institute Germany hosted a virtual book presentation and discussion entitled “A Conversation on Trump’s Washington” with Susan B. Glasser, staff writer at The New Yorker and author of the weekly column “Letter from Trump’s Washington.” Her column has become essential reading on the Trump White House. A selection of the best articles has been published as a German-language book by Weltkiosk under the title “Briefe aus Trumps Washington” im May 2020. In a conversation with Tyson Barker, Deputy Director and Fellow at Aspen Germany, Susan Glasser shared her views on the U.S. administration, the changing political culture in Washington and the U.S. in the world. Among the topics discussed were the current protests against racism and police brutality, Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming presidential election and Trump’s announcement of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Germany.
